[Wii] Super Mario Galaxy 2

June 5th, 2010

After recently completing the first Mario Galaxy, I took full responsibility of playing it at the expo. Throughout both days there was a massive crowd around the game, implying it’ll be new and different to the previous game however after managing to play it at the last minute I found I could shorten this review to “more of the same” but that would make it seem like a bad thing, since it is still one of my favourite Mario games and so much has been improved.

First of the premise, which is the same as usual. Peach has yet again been captured by Bowser and you as the portly plumber have to go save her (I’d have given in by now and just let Bowser have her) by collecting stars from various levels (galaxies) and face several bosses along the way. So just like any other Mario game but that was to be expected. » Read more: [Wii] Super Mario Galaxy 2

Proven wrong before I post

January 2nd, 2010

Happy new year, readers. Wasn’t it a good one? Clearly it was amazing, for we started posting for you lovely people. This is made even better by the fact we avoided doing any top ten X of the decade lists (at all), unless anyone wants to write one for us and prove me wrong. In which case, aren’t our top ten lists awesome? Yes, yes they are. Well, I’ve been keeping busy since my last post (The ‘busty’ typo I just corrected cannot remain hidden), and by bus(t)y I mean not actually doing much at all besides wallowing in my computer chair and playing games.

I’ve been meaning to ask you people something. The beady-eyed of you will notice this section has been posting to the imaginatively-titled category ‘I don’t have a name yet’. Could you correct this via the medium of comments? Thanks <3

[Video] Christmas Light Hero

December 14th, 2009

Get the Flash Player to see this content.

Watch on Youtube instead?

Is it bad that when I saw this, my head didn’t think “Wow, that must’ve been difficult and taken a long time to setup right there!” but instead, “Ha! He’s playing on easy… AND he’s using a Wii guitar. Lol”?

Answer: Yes, yes it is.

[4/11] Weekly Play #4

November 4th, 2009

We’re going to try out a new version of Weekly Play this week. Each week I write this lovely little article, mentioning what I’ve been playing and I feature my very favourite comment from the last Weekly Play post. Why would I feature my favourite comment? Because I’m asking for your opinions on what you’ve been playing this past week! (Or two, seeing as we missed a week at Eurogamer)

Over the past few weeks I’ve played a lot, thanks to MCM and Eurogamer! A few favourites would be Left4Dead2, Fairytale Fights, Blue Toad Murder Files and the new Super Mario Bros. Wii. Coupla things wrong with each of them, but hopefully they were/will be fixed before release. Since I’ve been home I’ve been hit with retro-fever, and have been playing Super Mario Bros. 3 for about 4 nights running. Hooray! I’m downloading the lovely Left4Dead2 demo as we speak, so hopefully I’ll be able to write a little more about that next week.

[News] Need for Speed Nitro: Early Arrival

October 21st, 2009

Electronic Arts announced today that the award-winning Need for Speed™ NITRO has gone gold and will be in stores early, arriving to retailers on November 3rd in North America and on November 6th in Europe.

Developed specifically for the Wii and Nintendo DS, Need for Speed NITRO captures the fun and exhilaration of arcade racing, thrusting players into a world of blazing speed where they must dominate the competition at 200 MPH – EA

To be honest I think this title is mainly to keep the Nintendo community a bit quiet because of their lack of Need for Speed: Shift. It has slightly reduced graphics, and will obviously have the “Unique”-ness of Nintendo consoles about them whether it be touch-screen or wii-mote. Anyway here’s the latest trailer and a couple of screen shots below. » Read more: [News] Need for Speed Nitro: Early Arrival
