You may all need a break from reading my PSN edition review of Final Fantasy 7, but I promise you this will be just as large if not larger, well that wasn’t a nice promise was it? Anyways lets get down to the facts, released on September 9th here in the UK Final Fantasy Dissidia hit the store shelves and this game has been nudging my mind ever since I heard of it. I didn’t know whether to buy it or not, but in the end I did and it ends up being one of the best dam games I’ve played on any system. So without further ado on with the review of epic-ness……there is a lot to cover…but can you keep up? (Please note all screenshots were camera taken of my PSP screen, only decent size images of menus tended to be Japanese…if I ever cross any I will update)
The first thing I will say before I discuss the concept behind this game and everything else, it had one very interesting feature. Upon the start menu you have the function to do a Data Install, now if you are all Xbox 360 or PS3 players then you should know what this means. Basically you can install small amounts of data to make the load times much quicker and to be honest you can notice it. I played it with and without install times, without install it took a while to load it, with maximum data install it makes it a good 5 -7 seconds faster and menus access quicker. The only problem I can come across with is that it takes a very long time to install the game and it prompts you with a chocobo and the chocobo music etc, it is a recommended thing to use before playing.
