Show me your nerdrage

January 18th, 2010

Well hey there reader, it’s been a while. Sorry about the lack of my posting recently, I’ve been distracted, ill, studying or just plain lazy. Probably the latter more then the others, and I shall certainly try to avoid sparse frontpages for a while. (Hell, you might’ve mistakenly thought we were a movie review site only for a while, what with Stone being the only person who can keep focused!)

For those of you who don’t obsessively inhabit our IRC channel (#moretothegame on AppliedIRC <3), we’ve spent an awful lot of time this weekend in trying to get some lovely older PC games working over a virtual LAN. After Hamachi woes, Gameranger game compatability lists being different over OS’s and AoE II refusing to work on Windows 7, we’ve pretty much given in for now.

[360] COD: Modern Warfare 2

December 7th, 2009

Even though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a game which entails slaughtering and exploderising people, I think that Infinity Ward have actually been rather considerate to those who are easily offended. Before you begin the campaign, you’re confronted with an option to skip a certain section of game play. However, when you think about it, should people who are easily offended really be playing this game in the first place? It involves killing, exploding, snapping dog necks and sorts of other violence. So, if you’re reading this and have played Modern Warfare 2 and you actually said you’d like to skip that certain part of game play, just… what the hell? Killing a virtual dog you’re ok with, but going in to an airport and killing virtual people, who aren’t actually real, is a crime?!? Just take a step back and think about this…

[Multi] MW2 gathers interest once COD came back to title

July 22nd, 2009

modernwarfare2box

A couple weeks back we found out through a gaming survey, that Modern Warfare 2 lost its appeal due to it loosing the COD branding on the games title. But a tracking service update released came to show that as soon as the COD branding was placed on the box art of Modern Warfare 2;that it’s appeal has risen very quickly as people now know to associate it with the COD universe. This was the week when box art was unveiled showing the brand on it.

So it comes to say that players want the brand on it, because they can associate it with that series, and if they loved Modern Warfare this will put their interest back into this game. If this is how its going we could have a top seller heading our way. Come on Infinity ward bring us something special.

COD Branding Returns to MW2

July 12th, 2009

Latest box art has come through, for their upcoming game Modern Warfare 2. The game is developed by Infinity ward who made COD4: Modern Warfare. A few weeks back, it was announced that MW2 would go out on its own routes as it’s own brand.

After that was said from Activision who publish it, a week later a poll was released and the results showed that less people associated MW2 not apart of the COD franchise and that it could confuse people as to what was it’s predecessor.
