[Movie] Up – 2D
October 17th, 200910:30am on a Sunday isn’t my usual slot for watching a film, I normally go for a nice afternoon showing, but clearly when you have a specialist taste such as I clearly do, you have to expect films consigned to the death slots. My clearly niche film this time? Up. Yes, the new smash hit from Pixar, well new in the UK. That’s hardly an independent film or small film, I hear you cry. You are correct, I respond, but I wanted to see it in 2D.

[Retro?] SEGA promises all new 2D Sonic game
September 9th, 2009According to a Gamespot interview with Sega”s brand manager Ken Ballough, Sonic will be returning in 2010 in an all new 2D Sonic game. Is it time to get our hopes up?
Most of you will remember Sonic’s early outings on the Megadrive (Genesis to those of you across the pond), and maybe even the 8-bit Master System with fondness, the first Sonic games being things of excellence. 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog on Master System II was my earliest gaming memory, and damn, it still plays well to this day.
The trailer announces “Speed returns in an all new 2D adventure built from the ground up”, complete with sound effects you’ll probably recognise. Including the famous SE-GA chorus. Oh yes, and it’s all going to be in HD. Delicious.
