Welcome to the first fully detailed article regarding that of the upcoming racing-sim that is Forza Motorsport 3 created by Turn 10. This game was announced at E3 a few months back and it shown significant improvements. We had jaw dropping graphics with cars 10x the poly count and 4x the resolution of that on its predecessor FM2. We have been shown, in car views not just one but Turn 10 confirmed over 400 cars with all interior design to be original to that of the car. We’ve been shown better damage, and also shown that we can now flip our cars over.
As we can see here on the left of this writing, we have picture that comes from Forza Motorsport 3. This is just one track they are racing on which has 3 different variations of it. 100 tracks have been said to be in FM3, which is a far lot and we have not to confirm whether they are counted as a single track if its in reverse, if that is not the case then we have a big awaking coming our way this fall.
Confirmed release date worldwide is in the month of October this year, a big time for Turn 10 as it’s beaten its rival Gran Turismo, which is yet to have an official release date slapped on it. We are going to receive vastly improved physics of that in FM2. In one feature that has only be share d to be Tyre deformation. Dan from Turn 10 explained that this feature comes in when your driving really fast and your cranking it in a corner and putting a lot of pressure on the Tyre, that it decides to start to roll over itself. The Tyre’s are the component that has most been worked on for what has been announced, as the different compound of the Tyre the different version of the Tyre it will change the way your car handles drastically, even the weight of your car is going to have an effect on the way your car drives.
Dan also mentioned details with customization, FM3 will have over 50% more add-ons that were in FM2, this is going into the ideas of sway bars, drive train additions etc etc. The whole concept behind it was meant to give a real life feel to the cars, and by what this means is the way it drives, different suspension and gearbox changes for engine tweaks. Turn 10 are pushing the bar with what they can do, as well as also developing more on the already complex Livery system. Your going to have far many more things to make your car the original one on the track.

The Auction house has been adapted to as well to make it much more user friendly to newcomers to the series or to make things easy to use for the already current Forza fan base. It has been said that a certain feature would be available for people who purchase the limited edition of the game. But details on that are scarce at the moment, so we will have to wait to see what Turn 10 will share with us in the coming weeks.
FM3 also contains a more in depth video editor, there was a video shown during its showing at E3 showing off what is possible with this video editor. Also it was confirmed that it can be uploaded and exported in HD which is a very good idea. Also you will be able to download them online and edit them without the need to capture card them. This is a very big feature to help people like project blackout who do drift videos.
Speaking of the cars now, as we have been told there will be around 400 cars within the game, that is a lot more then the previous installments. This picture on the right of this writing is of a Ferrari in black, as you can see the attention to detail of that and the environment surrounding it has gone that extra step further.
The cars will be of all different types, latest news from Turn 10 shows a list of SUV’s that will feature in the game along with some Japanese imports to. As well as your American and European made cars. Each and everyone has the interior designed to look identical to that of the real car.
Moving on to the AI enhancement, only one piece of information was shared to us and that was about the AI being implemented with a pressure system. The more you go up the AI’s rear end the more they may make mistakes and corners and vice versa, depending on difficulty is what judges the amount of mistakes they will produce. No race types have been mentioned yet besides the fact of drag racing being implemented into the game. On several forums and also dropped quite quickly was the idea of night time racing or rallying being in the game. Turn 10 simply stated no to that.
Forza Motorsport 3 will be shipping this October, exclusive to Xbox 360 and will come on two discs, the second disc will contain some of the tracks and cars that couldn’t be placed on the first disc. A new pit-pass podcast from Turn 10 will be on in the week and they have been said to explain some features in more detail, so when it comes I will let everyone know.
